FAQ
Getting Started
How do I start a project or discuss my requirements?
Just start a chat with us. You’ll be speaking directly with a Creative Director, not a sales representative. We’ll discuss your product, what emotion you want the visuals to evoke, and where they’ll be used — e-commerce, catalog, campaign, or print. This early conversation helps us align on the artistic intent, technical needs, and your timeline before we even share a quote. The process begins human-to-human, not form-to-form.
We have a physical product — can you create a 3D version from photos or CAD files?
Yes. Whether you have CAD drawings, reference photos, or even handmade prototypes, our artists can recreate your product with absolute precision. We match every curve, stitch, and reflection to feel authentic to the real object. For brands without CAD data, we use advanced modeling techniques guided by photo-based measurements to ensure scale accuracy. You’ll see your product reborn in 3D — ready for limitless lighting, material, and environment possibilities.
How do you ensure my inputs are understood correctly?
Every project starts with a creative briefing call or chat, where we listen more than we talk. We review your brand tone, material finishes, target audience, and photography references. Our directors then translate your inputs into a detailed internal guide that every artist follows — covering lighting, mood, and composition. This ensures your brand’s visual DNA is protected from the first preview to the final render.
Can you handle confidential or unpublished design projects?
Absolutely. Many of our clients are product design studios and manufacturers launching unreleased collections — discretion is part of our culture. All assets are stored in a private workspace accessible only to your assigned team. We sign NDAs upon request, and our internal systems follow strict version control to prevent leaks. Your designs stay unseen until you’re ready to reveal them.
Can I see sample renders similar to my project type?
Of course. Once we understand your category — furniture, lighting, appliances, or decor — we’ll share curated case studies relevant to your product type and visual goal. You’ll see how we’ve handled materials like glass, metal, or fabric, and how we create atmosphere around products to elevate their appeal. Seeing these references helps you visualize the level of artistry you can expect — calm, realistic, and brand-ready.
Process & Communication
How will we communicate during the project?
Every product project at Renderby is managed by a dedicated creative unit — a Creative Director, Lead Artist, Art Director, Quality Reviewer, and Operations Head who ensure design accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
Inside your Renderby workspace, you can chat live with your team, upload product references, and track renders in real time. You can click directly on the preview to comment, circle areas, or leave feedback on details like lighting, texture, or color. Each note is automatically tracked and assigned, so every revision moves fast and efficiently. Communication isn’t just easy — it’s designed for creativity, where your input becomes part of the art process.
Will I get progress updates?
Yes — and they’re structured, not sporadic. We share stage-wise previews: White Preview → Lighting → Texturing → Final. Each stage gives you the chance to approve or refine before we move forward. You’ll always know where the project stands, what’s next, and when to expect delivery. Transparency builds trust, and we never keep clients guessing.
Will I have someone guiding me throughout the project?
Always. The same Creative Director who begins your chat stays with you until the final delivery. They translate your brand goals into visual direction, brief the artists, and ensure the output aligns with your expectations. You won’t need to repeat context or chase updates — your director carries the creative vision from start to finish, just like a design partner sitting beside you.
Can you work directly with my marketing team or design interns?
Absolutely. We often collaborate directly with internal design or marketing teams — sharing files, aligning on updates, and streamlining decisions. If your team members handle CADs, materials, or references, we’ll communicate with them directly under your supervision. It saves you countless emails and ensures everyone stays on the same page.
What happens if there’s a delay from our side (like design changes)?
Design evolves — we understand that. If you need to make design changes mid-project, we simply adjust the timeline and continue from the latest approved stage. You’ll receive an updated schedule immediately, so nothing feels uncertain. Our workflow is built for creative flexibility — it supports your process rather than penalizing it.
Budget, Timeline & Quality
What if my project has a limited budget — can you still take it up?
We understand that not every project begins with a large marketing budget, and that’s completely fine. What matters more to us is the idea behind it. For high-budget, campaign-level visuals, we assign our Master and Skilled Artists — specialists who bring years of expertise in photorealism and art direction. For tighter budgets, we match you with one of our Emerging Artists — carefully chosen from the top 1% of applicants globally, mentored directly by our senior directors.
This structure allows us to respect your budget without ever compromising our standards. If your project excites us creatively, we often go beyond the numbers to make it happen.
Will choosing an emerging artist affect my output quality?
Not in outcome — but the experience differs slightly. Every render is guided by a Creative Director and passes through the same quality assurance pipeline. The difference lies in how fast and instinctively each artist operates.
Our Skilled and Master Artists are best suited for tight product launches and complex lighting setups — they move faster and anticipate refinements early. Emerging Artists, meanwhile, deliver incredible work when the creative brief and references are clear, and there’s a bit more breathing room in the schedule.
They may take more time polishing the details, but the end result still carries Renderby’s DNA — realism, beauty, and precision. They’re the top 1% of the next generation of visualizers, and we’re proud to have them grow under our direction.
How long does a typical render project take?
A single product render usually takes 3–5 working days, depending on complexity, materials, and the number of views. Lifestyle or environment renders can take slightly longer because we craft full lighting setups and styling compositions. Before we begin, we share a clear schedule with milestones — so you always know when previews and finals are due. We prefer realistic promises over rushed outcomes.
What if I have a very short deadline?
When timing is critical, we simply scale intelligently. Your project is assigned to a larger team of artists working in parallel, under one Creative Director’s supervision. This lets us compress timelines without compromising the final look. It’s the same way a film studio accelerates production — more talent, one vision, zero shortcuts. We’ve delivered tight turnarounds many times, and our process is designed for it.
If multiple artists work on my project, will the style still look consistent?
Yes — because style at Renderby isn’t random; it’s directed. Every artist follows a unified lighting setup, post-production tone, and composition guide prepared by the Creative Director. Before final delivery, all renders go through centralized grading to ensure perfect visual continuity. Whether one artist or five contribute, the result always feels like one seamless creative hand.
Do you work weekends or holidays for tight deadlines?
For priority projects, yes. When timelines demand it, we assemble extended-hour teams across different time zones to keep production continuous. You’ll know upfront if your deadline falls into that zone, and we’ll plan resources accordingly. The goal is never to rush — but to be ready when you need us most.
What if I’m not satisfied with the result?
That rarely happens — but if it does, we refine until you’re happy. Our review process ensures we never reach the final stage without your approval at every checkpoint. If you feel something doesn’t align with your vision, we revisit it collaboratively rather than defensively. At Renderby, satisfaction isn’t a checkbox; it’s part of our artistic integrity.
Creativity & Technicals
Do you use AI tools or manual rendering?
We use both — intelligently. AI helps us accelerate repetitive tasks like background cleanup or lighting tests, but the artistry of your render is always human-led. Our artists craft every frame manually — from the reflections on a surface to the emotional tone of lighting. Think of AI as an assistant that speeds up process, not a substitute for vision. At Renderby, technology enhances creativity; it never replaces it.
Can you replicate real studio lighting for product shots?
Yes — our renders follow real photography lighting logic, not random digital tricks. We replicate professional setups like softboxes, diffusers, and spotlights inside the 3D environment to mimic how light behaves in an actual studio. This gives your product believable depth, texture, and sheen. Whether you want a crisp catalog look or a moody campaign tone, we tailor the light to match the visual emotion — because lighting isn’t just illumination; it’s storytelling.
Can you make the product stand out while still showing the interior design context?
That’s one of our core strengths. We design each frame so the product feels heroic yet natural within its environment. The interior context supports the story — it never distracts from the hero. Every render begins with composition sketches that guide focus, reflections, and contrast to ensure your product captures attention instantly, even when surrounded by design elements. It’s the art of balancing realism with intent.
Can I get multiple views or lighting moods for the same scene?
Of course. Once your scene is fully set up, it becomes a creative playground — we can explore new camera angles, day/night moods, or even themed lighting setups to fit different campaigns. This approach saves time and cost, since we’re building on the same 3D foundation. Many clients use this flexibility to create an entire visual series from one scene, ensuring brand consistency across platforms.
Delivery & Extensions
Can you provide renders for e-commerce platforms like Amazon or Shopify?
Absolutely. We regularly create render sets optimized for e-commerce platforms — clean, sharp, and consistent across product lines. You’ll receive high-resolution stills in transparent or white backgrounds, along with perfectly aligned angles for galleries and zoom features. We also match each platform’s technical specifications, ensuring your visuals upload flawlessly. The result? Studio-level imagery that feels premium, loads fast, and helps your products sell better from the first glance.
Can you help us create marketing visuals for seasonal or lifestyle campaigns?
Yes — and it’s one of our favorite collaborations. We work with your marketing team to design campaign visuals that reflect each season’s tone or collection theme. From festive warmth to minimalist sophistication, our Creative Directors art-direct entire scenes — environments, lighting, props, and colors — that make your products emotionally resonate. Think of it as art direction in 3D form: every pixel crafted to communicate your brand’s mood.
Can you maintain brand color and finish accuracy across multiple products?
Consistency is non-negotiable. We use calibrated lighting and material reference systems to ensure that every render — whether of glass, fabric, or metal — stays true to your brand’s color library. Even when different artists work across multiple SKUs, your Creative Director manages color balance and exposure uniformity. This process ensures your entire collection looks cohesive, as if photographed under one light — because visual consistency builds brand trust.
Can you also animate our products or show them in motion?
Yes — our animation team transforms static renders into cinematic stories. From smooth rotations and exploded views to lifelike product interactions, we choreograph movement that reveals detail and emotion simultaneously. Every animation is directed like a short film — with storyboards, lighting control, and camera movement designed to captivate, not just inform. Whether for ads, product pages, or exhibitions, your brand will feel alive and dynamic on screen.
